Founder and Therapist, Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC)
Hi, I’m Kelsey, a white settler of Ukrainian and Scottish ancestry on the stolen lands of the Ts’msyen people, also known as Terrace. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 10 years working as a classroom teacher and school counsellor, a journey that deepened my understanding of the unique paths we all walk. It was through this experience that I found my true passion and purpose: helping others explore themselves, uncover authenticity, and navigate life’s challenges with courage and compassion.
Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in the outdoors—whether hiking, skiing, snowboarding, or biking. I also love losing myself in a good book or tapping into my creative side through various hobbies and connecting with the people in my life.
I believe that you already have everything within you to grow, heal, and live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. My humanistic approach prioritizes genuine connection and a commitment to decolonizing therapeutic practices. I understand the impact systemic oppression and societal structures can have on mental health, and I aim to provide a safe, inclusive space to explore these realities, honor your experiences, and support your journey towards reaching your full potential.
Our work together begins with creating safety—within our relationship, your body, and the space we share. This foundation of trust allows us to explore your emotions and identity with curiosity and compassion. From there, we’ll uncover your desires, tap into your potential, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels true and aligned with who you are.
Your journey is uniquely yours, but you don’t have to face it alone.
Headwaters Therapy acknowledges that your therapeutic journey and our work together takes place on the unceded traditional territory of the Ts'msyen People, home to the Kitselas and Kitsumkalum First Nations. I honor the land, its history, and the continued relationship the Ts'msyen People have with this special place.
Decolonization is a priority and core value at Headwaters Therapy. As a therapist, I am committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and action to challenge colonial systems within therapy and beyond. This includes recognizing how these systems impact mental health and working toward creating spaces that center respect, equity, and cultural safety for you, the client.
I extend my deepest gratitude to the Ts'msyen People for their stewardship of this land and hold a deep intention to align my work with practices that support healing, inclusivity, and reconciliation.
